SSB DCW 2004 B Sequencer

The Bias-T incl. Sequencer, DCW 2004 B, allows a comfortable remote coupling of our
MHP - R and SUPER - AMP preamplifiers via the coaxial cable as well as for delayed
switching of HF-linear amplifiers.
Description
The Bias-T incl. Sequencer, DCW 2004 B, allows a comfortable remote coupling of our
MHP - R and SUPER - AMP preamplifiers via the coaxial cable as well as for delayed
switching of HF-linear amplifiers.

The sequential operation of the DCW 2004 B avoids reliably damage to the preamlifier
that may be caused by HF-spikes during switching. It offers 3 switching outputs in total,
which have ascending delay times. So not only linear amplifiers but other devices, like
transverters, can be switched on with defined times.

The DCW 2004 B is designed for the amplifiers MHP - R and SP series. The PTT switching
input of the DCW 2004 B accepts a circuit against ground or against + 5 ... 12 V.
The preamlifier and a linear amplifier (if used) can be switched on or off as required.

The HF-section of the DCW 2004 B offers a very low inseration loss and a high shielding
factor.

The PTT control of the transceiver must take place in analogue operating modes (SSB, CW FM) from connection 6 of the DCW 2004 B sequencer. You must then control the PTT with a foot switch. Or you have to cut the PTT line on the microphone. When using the WSJT-X program, the PTT output socket of the transceiver must be connected to connection 3 of the DCW 2004 B sequencer. Set the TX delay to 0.5 sec in the program under Settings → Advanced!

The following diagrams show how to connect the DCW 2004 B:

A “Bias-Tee” also known as a “DC Inserter” is a simple way to feed DC power through coaxial cable to the remote device such as a pre-amplifier and – or transmit/receive relays via the coaxial cable. The main task is to inject DC into or extract DC current from the coaxial cable, leaving the RF signal undisturbed. A bias tee is a passive RF circuit...
